IMPORT iPHONE 3Gs VIDEO INTO FINAL CUT PDF Print E-mail
by Amani Channel

Cell phones have revolutionized how video is captured and shared.  Ten years ago you needed bulky camera to record a memorable moment.  Now you just need a mobile phone.

They capture breaking news, funny moments, and even live events.  I own several that shoot video: a
Treo 755, a Nokia N70 and now I primally use an iPhone 3Gs.  I like cell phones because they are small, inconspicuous and portable.

The drawback generally is the video and audio quality.  That being said, I've been impressed with how my iPhone handles video.  The video camera quality is excellent, and I've been experimenting with different sites that allow quick video upload and streaming like
Qik, Kyte and Twit Vid.  I must say that Kyte is one of my favorite communities.

The one drawback is that the iPhone 3Gs' video editor is very basic.  You can only edit the beginning and end of each clip with its built in application.  I've captured several clips that I want to eventually edit into podcast episodes.

So how do you do take a video file from your phone and import it into software like Final Cut?

I produced this short tutorial that demonstrates the process.  If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email at achannel(at)visualeyemedia.com, or send me a tweet
